Halloween Sensory Bag

BOO!  Oh yes, I’m in the Halloween spirit.  This is the time of year that I love to take the decoration out and really get into Halloween-izing the house.  All the summer holidays are just no fun to decorate for, so I’m always excited to pull the big orange tub out from the attic and make things spooky around here.

To get baby boy in the spirit of Halloween I decided to make him a Halloween Sensory Bag.  It’s pretty simple – hence the short post today – yesterday’s AppleCheek cloth diaper post wore me out!  I have made sensory bags like this previously with baby boy and taped them to the front glass door.  He was just starting to crawl around and explore his world, so it was perfect.

This time with the sensory bags I chose to make them mobile, well, because baby boy is!  He can drag it around with him (under my supervision of course) and squish it and squeeze it all he wants.  I have been offering it also for play on his light table.  The light shining through it really brings it to life!

The sensory bag on our light table…spooky…

All you need is:

  • hair gel
  • plastic baggies
  • food coloring
  • spooky Halloween items

Mix them all together in the bag and let the creepy squishing begin!  Check back next week when I share my Halloween Sensory Bin!

Have you made anything special for the fall season?
