Making Mommy May Challenge: Update!

So the title up there says Update huh?  That means I have to update you and be honest about this challenge?  Ok..here goes nothing!  If you remember, I made a pact with myself to skip the fattening late night snacks and go for fruit or veggies.

OK!  Honesty time.  I cheated.  Yep.  But just for one weekend….AND it was Mother’s Day weekend.  If I get to cheat at all, then it should be on Mother’s Day weekend.  I think we can all relate right?  The cookie cake at our get together was too good to resist.  And the frosting and graham crackers the night before were too good to resist.

I have been doing pretty good so far though.  I made a promise to myself that starting yesterday and for the rest of this week through Friday I would do a fruit/veggie based snack every night.  One night down four more to go.  I can do it!  Here is a sampling of what I have been eating:

  • strawberry/banana smoothies
  • sugar snap peas and hummus
  • melon
  • apples and peanut butter
  • blueberries, yogurt, and granola

Doesn’t sound half bad huh?  It has made me more aware of what I am eating in general, which is a good thing.  I don’t think I can use the “I need tons more calories because I am nursing” bit much longer.  This challenge mixed with my abs every day challenge from last month is helping me to get a bit of my pre-baby body back…yay.

And BONUS!  I have lost a few pounds!  Come back next week when I wrap this challenge up!
